Camden Cares: Mid-Atlantic Edition
Every year, each of the regions within Camden get together to give back to the community through our outreach program, Camden Cares. We had such a fantastic experience in 2016; we decided to return to the Capital Area Food Bank, in Washington DC.
Over 100 Camden employees from properties in DC, Maryland, and Virginia spent time at the food bank between September, October, and November. Volunteers worked on projects from sorting out donation cans to boxing prepackaged meals for families in need for Thanksgiving.
“I have been fortunate to be involved in Camden Cares for almost 7 years. Each year the experience is completely different. I personally feel like physical labor is the best way to utilize giving back, as I am a Leasing Consultant, and my daily work is not necessarily filled with manual labor. I love getting to work more with our Maintenance team members, Regional Managers, and Community Managers from other properties. Seeing everyone come together to fulfill a common goal is amazing. I have never worked for a company that does anything like this. No one ever complained, everyone was smiling, and at the end of it all, we didn’t want to stop. I look forward to 2018 Camden Cares.”- Joelle Salviati, Shady Grove

“I think a lot of people take for granted that when they show up for their holiday meal with the family the table is going to be overflowing with deliciousness. It was nice to take time out of our busy work week to help out those in need right before the holiday season. It provided a refresher for myself and a new outlook on being thankful around the upcoming holidays.”- Josh Cordle, Camden Noma
“It was nice to give back to my community, especially around the holiday season.” -Karina Perdomo, Fairfax Corner
