Working from home has been an adjustment for us all. Whether you’re home every day or just a few days each week, you need a dedicated workspace that meets your office needs. Here are a few necessities I found to make my work-from-home setup more comfortable and functional. You can thank me later!

When you sit on video calls for 3 hours straight

We’ve all been there…those meetings that run for multiple hours. By the end, your backside goes numb and you can already tell your shoulders will be sore tomorrow. If you’re sitting for an extended period, invest in a high-quality seat cushion.  Bonus points for memory foam and a combo set that includes a backrest!

When you need all the internet juice you can get

Most Camden apartments come with high-speed internet included in the Technology Package.  But, did you know that plugging your device directly into the port gets you way more internet power?  An ethernet cord can give you an extra boost and ensure your connection stays stronger than WiFi.  Try an extra-long cord, so you can move around the room or your whole apartment!

When you don’t have enough space for a real desk

You love your apartment, and you can’t imagine living anywhere else. You decorated it perfectly!  But now you work from home every day, and constantly moving your work stuff out of the way is getting old.

If you can’t move into a larger apartment or rearrange your furniture, try a space-saving desk!  Get creative with your apartment space and add this functional yet small piece of furniture. Check out these other ways to make the most of your small space!

When your elbows start to hurt

This one surprised me.  I started to notice my elbows were getting sore and realized it was from resting them on the table while typing all day.  After trying a hand towel and a dish drying mat as cushions, I leaned into my diva tendencies and bought this incredible elbow mat

When you need to take an exercise break

Working from home means that you can go from bed to your office in just a few steps. Why not use the time you would have spent commuting to work to get up and get moving before diving into your workday?  Take a quick exercise break before logging in or between calls - it’s good for your body and mind! This folding exercise bike allows you to get in a sweat session then hide your home gym away in the closet. Also, check out these additional tips for transforming your home into your gym!

I promise I'm not being paid or sponsored to influence you into buying these items. I have personally purchased each of them, and I really do believe that they will make your new home office much more efficient, comfortable, and useful. They've certainly improved mine!
