One of my favorite pastimes is rolling up my sleeves and diving into fun DIY projects, and there’s no better way to get the creative juices flowing than moving into a new space. The best part? You don’t need weeks or a huge budget to make a big impact. With just a weekend, a few supplies, and creativity, you can transform your space and have tons of fun doing it!
Here are some of my go-to DIY apartment décor projects that are renter-friendly, quick, and guaranteed to make your Camden apartment home feel extra special.
1. Show Off Your Style with a Personal Gallery Wall
Nothing brings warmth and personal style to an apartment home quite like photos, art, and memories. A gallery wall instantly adds personality to any blank space.
Use removable hooks or adhesive strips for an easy, renter-friendly solution. No holes necessary!
Mix frames, art prints, and personal photos to create a space that's uniquely yours.
Lay your frames on the floor first to plan out how to arrange them before hanging them. Or, use painter's tape to map it out on the wall itself!

2. Brighten up Your Home in a Jiffy
Lighting can transform a room’s atmosphere and is so easy to customize! Many Camden apartment homes already come equipped with energy-efficient bulbs, so I do suggest checking your lease before switching out any bulbs.
Add removable under-cabinet lights to your kitchen or bathroom cabinets to create a soft, inviting mood in your home while giving the main light a break.
Upgrade to smart home light bulbs to add some color and a unique ambiance.
3. Turn Your Balcony Windows into Art with Removable Window Decals
Customize your balcony door or windows with a removable window decal! Coming in all shapes and sizes, window decals add color to your home and privacy to your life.

4. Add Style & Storage with Floating Shelves
Floating shelves are the perfect way to combine storage and style! They’re practical and easy to personalize to your taste.
Paint or stain wood to match your apartment’s aesthetic, or thrift a used shelf to give it a second life.
Display your favorite books, plants, or framed photos to create a great conversation starter when friends stop by.
Install with removable brackets for a renter-friendly option!
5. Refresh Furniture with Contact Paper
Want a big furniture transformation without a hefty price tag to match? Contact paper is your best friend!
Give an old coffee table a makeover with faux marble or patterned contact paper!
Have more of a classic taste? Contact paper is also available in wood-grain finishes.
You don’t need endless time or a big budget to make your apartment feel like home! With just a weekend and some creativity, these DIY projects can help you transform your space into stylish, functional, and completely YOU!
