DIY gifts are great because they make gift giving on a budget easy, and they also show the person you are giving them to that you put thought and effort into making them something special. They are also quick and easy to make if you need a last minute gift idea. For our most recent resident event at Camden Farmers Market, we made DIY coasters! These make super cute home décor for your Camden apartment, and a set is also a great holiday gift because who couldn't use coasters? In order to make these you can use your choice of scrapbook paper, patterned napkins, printed images, or photographs. If you are making these as a gift for someone and want to add a more personal touch, consider doing a favorite quote or picture of their family or pets!
We purchased all of our supplies at Michael’s craft store except for the tiles. You can find tiles at any home improvement store such as home depot for a couple cents apiece.
**Supplies you will need:**
Tiles
Roll of cork
Hot glue gun and glue
Mod Podge
Foam paintbrush
Scrapbook paper/picture/napkins
Acrylic Sealant

**Crafting Instructions:**
Step 1: Cut a section of cork to the size of the tile. You can either cut it so it covers the whole bottom or cut four little squares to place on the corners.
Step 2: Use the hot glue gun to attach the cork to the bottom of the tile, this will protect the coaster from scratching whatever surface it is set on.
Step 3: Mod Podge the top of the tile and place your choice of paper on top. Let dry for several minutes.
Step 4: Put another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the paper. Let dry for about 10 minutes or until it is no longer wet to touch.
Step 5: Spray with sealant to make waterproof. You may want to do this outside as the fumes from the sealant are pretty strong indoors.
Step 6: Wrap and give your gift!
