Nothing gets you in a more festive mood than decorating your apartment for the holidays. As fun as these decorations can be they can also be an invitation for trouble. I have two adorable huskies but last year I came home to this…

Having pets doesn't mean the holidays have to be impossible. It just means you must work a little bit harder to keep your pets off the naughty list!
Camden Waterford Lakes like many other Camden Communities has a large dog park. Enjoy the nice weather by getting out some of that extra energy at the dog park. Bored dogs can become destructive, so exercise is essential! Orlando also has a variety of local dog parks that you can enjoy as well!
Pet Proof your Christmas Tree.
Pets like to hang out under the tree. Try avoiding low-hanging ornaments that can be tempting to play with, or that they can get tangled in. For kitties that like to climb, consider opting for unbreakable ornaments. Elevate your tree or secure it to the wall of ceiling with fishing line to prevent it from getting knocked over.
Say no to Poinsettias and Tinsel.
Although we love Christmas flowers, ingesting poinsettias can cause nausea and vomiting for most pets. For those of you who want a little sparkle, stick to secured garland rather than messy tinsel. Cats and dogs love tinsel, and if ingested, can cause serious problems leading to expensive vet bills.
We can’t always be around to keep an eye on our pets. Using a pet camera, like the Petcube Play, allows you to keep an eye on your pets. Get sound and motion alerts sent directly to your smart phone to let you know when your pet is up to no good. Otherwise, you can schedule a drop-in visit with a fellow pet lover using Rover.com.
