Who Qualifies for a Workforce Dwelling Unit?

Eligibility is based on household income, household size, and applicable Area Median Income (AMI) limits. At Camden Blakeney, WDU applicants must meet the applicable 80% AMI income limits.

How Does the WDU Application Process Work?

Applying for a WDU includes an income-eligibility review in addition to Camden's standard application and screening process.

1. Complete the required eligibility documentation: You'll provide the household and income information required for the WDU eligibility review.

2. Eligibility is reviewed: Camden submits the required documentation to the City of Charlotte for review, with a typical review period of 24–48 hours.

3. Complete Camden's online application process: Once WDU eligibility is approved by the City of Charlotte, complete Camden's online application, and then Camden will complete its standard screening and ID verification process within approximately 48–72 hours.

4. Sign your lease: Once approved, you'll move forward with your lease for your new home!

What Is Included in a WDU Home?

A WDU is still every bit a Camden Blakeney home. Every apartment includes white quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, white shaker cabinetry, wood-look plank flooring, full-size washers and dryers, and walk-in closets with private patios or balconies available in select homes.
