You’ve almost made it through summer! But maybe you've had one too many hot dogs, or getting outside to run didn’t happen because you thought you might melt right into the sidewalk. Now it’s time get back up on the horse. Looking for a fun Atlanta spin class to get you motivated? Look no further! CycleBar is what you need! The class takes spin to a whole new level, with a long list of amenities.
I have always had a soft spot for group fitness classes. I can’t find a beat to save my life, but I love Zumba and I promise there is nothing better than sweating it out in a heated power yoga class with other sweaty people. When I read that a local retired Atlanta resident was opening a new Atlanta spin class studio, just ten minutes from Camden Dunwoody and Camden Creekstone, I had to check it out!
Well, it took me a while to work up the nerve to go, but I finally took a FREE 30 min Intro to CycleBar class and it was amazing!
I had never taken a spin class before and had no idea what to expect (see previous picture’s facial expression). When I walked in I was greeted by the instructor for my class. She showed me how to check in on an iPad (cool) and then look up my bike number on another iPad (so easy), which I had reserved before class online. That number correlated to a shoe box number where my special shoes that clip into the bikes were already waiting on me!
I went back to the locker area to wait before the class started and I was super impressed! There waiting for riders post-class were bananas, peaches and apples. On top of that, they provide you with a water bottle to use and chilled / filtered water. In the shower room there were blow dryers, hair straighteners, toiletries, towels… everything! Forget your hair tie? No problem. They've got that too.
The locker area has lockers for everyone to use. No need to bring a lock, they have a lock system that you can make your own for no extra charge (of course). There is even a little USB charging port for your phone! Make sure to leave your device there because the cycle theater is a device free zone.
The class taught us how to clip in and adjust our bikes, plus what to expect from a full length class. There are lots of different light settings and there is an actual DJ booth. The instructors use a playlist that is emailed to you after class along with your stats, which are displayed on a big screen in front of you while you’re cycling.
The theater holds a lot of bikes, and you reserve your bike when you hold your spot online prior to class. So you can choose wherever works best for you. The bike has a towel and a weighted bar waiting for you when you come into the room… and don’t worry, you will definitely use BOTH!
This was the coolest fitness class I’ve ever taken. I thought the majority of the class would be cardio, but we did upper body work as well. The hill work KILLS those leg muscles! Every time you stand on the bike you’re using your core, so don’t worry you’ll work out the whole body.
If you’re in the North Atlanta metro area this is a must, and if your ITP and still want to try this Atlanta spin class, then heads up! There’s a Buckhead studio offering FREE RIDES until their Grand Opening September 11th!
CycleBar Dunwoody is teaming up with Camden Dunwoody and Camden Creekstone to bring a Pop-Up class, right to your community. This won't just be any class. It will benefit the American Heart Association! A $25 donation will not only get you a spot in the class, but it was also get you an ADDITIONAL 3 classes (a $66 value)! The class will be held in the Camden Dunwoody parking lot on Saturday, Sept 24th. We’re super stoked! Anyone is welcome, so come join us and give back while getting in shape!
Can’t wait to meet you at the Bikes!
