The groundhog has spoken! Spring is coming very soon. Now is the time to start preparing your apartment home for the warm weather. These 6 tips will help keep your Camden apartment home in top shape this spring.
- Do Your Own Maintenance Inspection
At Camden, our maintenance team members perform quarterly preventative maintenance inspections which involves changing air filters, checking smoke detector batteries, and checking for leaks. In between the time they perform these PMs, as a resident we encourage you to check your appliances, lights, and plumbing under your sink to make sure nothing needs repairing. If you find something that needs repair, submit a maintenance request 24/7 using your portal account on MyCamden.com.

2. Prepare for Pests
Warm weather tends to bring the pests out of hiding. Avoid them from entering your home by checking your doors and windows for gaps. Contact your maintenance team to repair the weather-stripping if it needs attention. Camden also provides pest control services as a perk of living in the community. If you do see any tiny visitors, be sure to request for treatment by contacting your leasing office.
3. Deep Clean Everything
It is always a good idea to take the time and empty out all your cabinets, appliances, and storage and clean, clean, clean! Whether you are using chemicals or going natural, sanitizing and deep cleaning is important for health and general upkeep or your apartment home.
The popular KonMari method is a great option to declutter your extra items. Jump on the bandwagon and declutter the items that no longer spark joy in your life. Camden apartments provide large closet spaces. Need additional storage space? Ask about rentable storage units at your community.
5. Start an Indoor Garden
Landscapers will start planting fresh flowers and mulch outdoors, but why not bring some life to your apartment home? There are several plants that require low maintenance for busy lifestyles. You can also try planting herbs to use for cooking. Get creative with a mason jar or old bottle for your plants and flowers.

Retail stores and websites have great décor items in stock for spring. Start small with an accent pillow or go big with a new piece of furniture! Try to incorporate the Pantone color of the year, Living Coral. Or be bold and try a completely new style.
Spring is a chance to brighten up your life and apartment home! You will feel better by walking into your living space knowing that you are ready to take on the world, relax and live stress free.
