5 Summer Sides for the Grill
With summer in full swing it is time to cool off in the pool and heat up that grill. Steaks, burgers, sausages are typical grilled fare, but why not finish off the meal with sides on the grill as well? Just in time for a weekend BBQ by your Camden pool, here are 5 of my favorite side dish recipes for the grill. So skip the boring vegetable tray or run of the mill salads and grill up some goodness.
I’m not a huge fan of veggie kabobs, but charred broccoli is a favorite of mine. I like to add sliced red onion to the mix as well. (Photo Courtesy of Food & Wine)
Pineapple is great slightly grilled on its own as a side or cubed up in a quick salsa as well. I like mine topped with a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning at the end to amp up the salty, spicy, sweet combo. (photo courtesy of All Recipes)
Grilled corn on the cob is one of my all time summer favorites. I’ll often use any leftover cobs and take the kernels off to toss in a salad for the week. (Photo Courtesy of HeyPeep)
Grilling tofu is the only way I seem to ever get the texture I like. It is great as a side and option for any vegetarian friends or family as well. Just make sure you press all of the liquid out of it in advance to avoid very mushy cubes. (Photo Courtesy of MarthaStewart.com)
Potato salad is a BBQ staple and this is a nice, lighter twist on the usual side dish. It’s good served warm, cold, or room temperature making it a good pot luck option as well. (Photo Courtesy of Feasting At Home)
