At Camden, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to support our residents and the planet. This month, our teams at Camden RiNo, Camden North Quarter, and Camden Gaines Ranch joined forces with Trashie, a leader in textile recycling and circular sustainability, to host an eco-friendly community event across our properties.
The mission? To make responsible recycling accessible, simple, and impactful for every resident.
During our resident events, Trashie representatives connected with neighbors in person, answering questions and highlighting how easy it is to give worn-out fabrics a second life. Thanks to our residents’ enthusiasm, 110 Trashie Take-Back Bags were distributed across the three properties—each one representing a step toward reducing landfill waste and embracing sustainable living.
Our residents arrived with curiosity, excitement, and a large number of items ready to be recycled. The Trashie team brought cupcakes and pup cups to encourage our residents to learn more about Trashie and its recycling and upcycling process. Whether it was old socks, towels, leggings, or denim that had seen better days, our friendly representatives from Trashie made recycling feel approachable and even fun!

How Trashie Take-Back Bags Work
Trashie’s mission is simple: keep textiles out of landfills and put them back into the circular economy. Here’s how the process works:
Fill the Bag Residents can use their Take-Back Bag to collect unwanted textiles—anything from clothing and linens to shoes and accessories. Items don’t have to be in perfect condition; they’ll be responsibly sorted no matter what.
Ship It Back (For Free!) Once the bag is full, residents simply scan the QR code on the bag, print their prepaid shipping label, and drop it off at any USPS location.
Give Items a Second Life Trashie processes every item, ensuring each piece is reused, donated, upcycled, or recycled. Nothing goes to waste.
Earn Points Toward Rewards Residents can even earn points toward future rewards or sustainable brands—making the choice to recycle feel even better.

Why This Matters for Our Community
Textile waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the U.S., with millions of tons ending up in landfills each year. By partnering with Trashie, we’re helping our residents take small, achievable steps that add up to massive positive change.
The benefits are real:
Less landfill waste
Every Take-Back Bag helps divert pounds of textiles from our local landfills.
A more engaged, informed community
Events like this spark conversations, inspire new habits, and encourage neighbors to make sustainability part of everyday life.
Convenience that empowers sustainable behavior
With no sorting or special drop-offs required, residents can build eco-friendly practices into their normal routines.
A shared commitment to a cleaner future
The success of this event showcased just how passionate our Camden communities are about protecting the planet.
