Can you believe 2023 is almost over? With this, that means the holidays are upon us! Sparkling lights and holiday-themed events are around every corner. Creating new traditions can be challenging in a new area if you have recently moved. Now, let’s find your next holiday tradition in Tempe, Arizona.

Camden Tempe and Camden Sotelo are steps away from Tempe Town Lake, Mill Avenue, the Botanical Gardens, and the Phoenix Zoo. These well-known locations are set to have some wonderful festivities to get you in the holiday spirit!

Mill Avenue and Tempe Town Lake

My favorite event every year is Second Sundays on Mill. At this event you can support local vendors and find unique holiday gifts.

• This is a free event.

• Second Sunday starts at 10:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. on December 10.

Within walking distance to our Camden locations is Tempe Town Lake. On December 10, they will have a boat parade on the lake with shopping, food, and fun.

• This event is free!

• The boat parade starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.

Desert Botanical Gardens and the Phoenix Zoo

Another great tradition is visiting the Desert Botanical Gardens (1201 N. Galvin Parkway) and the Phoenix Zoo (455 N. Galvin Parkway). These two popular destinations are within minutes of Camden Tempe and Camden Sotelo.

The Botanical Gardens will host Las Noches De Las Luminarias again this year! This event will have musical performances and holiday lights throughout the gardens at night.

• This event is on select weekends between December 1 through December 30.

• This event will cost between $14.95 and $39.95.

The Phoenix Zoo will have a spectacular light show throughout its exhibits again this year. You have plenty of time to gather your family and friends for a fun-filled evening. On Monday, December 4, they will also have a Sensory Friendly ZooLights with modifications.

• This event will run from November 22, 2023, until January 14, 2024.

• This event will cost between $25 and $35.

One of my favorite things about the holidays in a new city is creating new traditions with friends and family.
