You can take part in a Candlelight Holiday Celebration or the daytime celebrations, showcasing the 1st Vanderbilt Holiday celebration of 1895. Tour the mansion while being serenaded by choirs and soloists. The Biltmore also currently has a Wedding Fashion Exhibition going on.

Brightleaf Square is comprised of restaurants and shops housed within historic tobacco warehouses. During the holiday season, you can enjoy this square while listening to vocal/instrumental ensembles perform in the courtyard. This is a great place for holiday date nights and family outtings. Located in the heart of Durham, this square is sure to bring your holiday activities that city flare that it deserves.

  1. Beaufort, NC, "America's Best Towns for the Holidays 2015"

If you are looking for holidays on the coast, Beaufort, NC is the place for you. This 2.7 mile tow, surrounded by nearly a mile of water, is a beautiful place to go. All attractions are walk-able or you can travel via boat. The infamous pirate, Blackbeard met his demise approximately 40 miles away - Beaufort is the perfect town for maritime lovers!

I am lucky enough to call North Carolina "my home" all year round, however, for those that are unable to experience its magnificence, be aware that you are missing out on a gem of American culture and beauty!

Hope to see you all in North Carolina this holiday season because, obviously, this is the place to be!
