Summer Time in Los Angeles means outdoor activities.  We are spoiled with good time summer weather so why not take advantage of all the activities that are outdoors?  Take a look at these fun events happening around our Los Angeles County Camden communities. 

Santa Monica’s massively popular Twilight Concert Series will return June 22, 2017.  Grab some friends and head down to the pier to enjoy free live entertainment from your local favorites.  Last year I saw ska royalty Save Ferris play and it was a very fun event!  You can take the Expo Line to Santa Monica from Downtown LA, Pasadena, San Fernando Valley, South Bay, Long Beach and dozens of points in between.

Great films deserve great locations, and the movie viewing venues in Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood are set alongside some of the most iconic city backdrops around the world. With panoramic views and stunning sunsets, movies have never looked so great!  Movies such as LA LA Land, Logan, and Get Out will be playing in June and other great films playing until August.  Visit The Roof Top Cinema Club for ticket availability.

Summer And Music (SAM) is Downtown Long Beach’s homegrown concert series, providing an entire summer of free music to the public.  I am looking forward to this one!  It has been voted OC Weekly's "Best Music Festival" three times in a row for its display of local acts at outdoor venues. With performances spanning the genres of jazz, pop, rockabilly, funk and then some, there will truly be something for everyone to listen to and love all summer long.  This year’s events take place on June 24, 2017, July 29, 2017, and August 19, 2017.

The International Surf Festival takes place August 3-6, 2017 in Manhattan Beach. Participants range in age from 8 years old to the late 80’s.  It’s definitely a fun sight to see the surfers take on such big waves!    Other great events include a surfing contest, bodysurfing contest, beach run, paddleboard races, dory race, and youth events. The festival has hosted numerous international lifeguard teams including teams from Victoria, Australia.
