Coming home to your Camden apartment is all about relaxation and making memories for a lifetime.  It is also where delicious foods come together to enjoy with friends and family.

A friend shared this tasty apple pie recipe with me last week while we were chatting and watching a baking challenge on the Food Network.  I was so anxious to try it, I bought all the ingredients and booked myself a baking date!

This simple recipe can be accomplished by even the most unexperienced baker (that’s me).  Let’s get started!

Here is what you’ll need:

6 cups thinly sliced apples

3/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon of all spice

1 9-inch pie crust

A dash of nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Peel and slice apples to measure 6 cups.

  2. Combine sugar, cinnamon, all spice, and nutmeg.  (The amount of sugar used depends on how tart your apples are. I used Pink Lady apples which are sweet and tart).

  3. Arrange apples in layers in pastry lined pie tin or baking dish. Sprinkle each layer with sugar and cinnamon.

  4.  Layer the top with small pieces of butter or margarine.

  5. Cover top with pie crust.

  6. Place pie on lowest rack in oven preheated to 450 degrees. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for an additional 30 to 35 minutes.

Let the pie cool down a little then indulge with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.  It’s so good, you’ll have a second helping just like I did!
