In 2001, Camden established the hummingbird as its logo. The hummingbird, universally liked and fascinating to watch, is shown just prior to landing- this moment is about destination…about coming home to Camden.
This is the story about how the hummingbird logo changed one person’s life, and how it made her come home to Camden.

When Brandy casually walked into Camden to help a friend look at apartments, she had no idea it would end up being her home. Now months later, Brandy and her story have made a strong impact on the Camden team.
Brandy grew up very close to her grandmother. She was the daughter that her grandmother never had, so they were together all the time. Her grandmother always had books all about birds throughout her house. One of the books is even at Brandy’s apartment, now next to her grandmother’s ashes. Her grandmother also had a clock that would display a different bird every hour, and her favorite bird was the hummingbird. She even had a hummingbird feeder suctioned to the window in her kitchen so that she could see them as often as possible. When Brandy would visit, she would see a pitcher of fruit punch in the refrigerator, but she knew if was off limits because it was hummingbird food.
Brandy’s first trip to Camden was to help her friend find an apartment. She had no intentions of leaving her current apartment home. Shortly after her visit to Camden, Brandy started having issues with noisy neighbors and construction. She realized that she was unhappy with her apartment home. One day, she decided to come back to Camden and look at a place for herself. Her preferred apartment was to be on the top floor, and there was one possible option for her to move in to.
After receiving the Camden folder with information about the property and apartment, that is when she realized that the hummingbird was the Camden logo.
“It was at that moment that I was like; this is where I was supposed to go.”
"So as soon as I saw the hummingbird, I knew that I had to get that apartment.”
Brandy’s grandmother was always concerned with Brandy’s health and wellbeing. She always used to say, “You need to relax, you need to always make sure you are getting your sleep."
Fast forward 3 months, Brandy is happy to call Camden her home. “When I walk through the building and the lights are on I can see the hummingbird lit up and I feel like I am exactly where she would want me to be.”
