Ringing the Bell

Friday, Aug. 2, 2013

Twenty-eight years ago, Jeannine Henry was hired as Ric Campo’s Senior Executive Assistant; this week she rang the NYSE Opening Bell. Camden is celebrating twenty years of being a public company and a lot has changed for us in that time. In 1993, Camden had 20 apartment communities in one state – today, Camden has 179 communities in 10 states. In the beginning, Camden’s founders, Ric Campo and Keith Oden, created this company because they wanted to build apartment homes that people love. Part of Camden’s success is that we take pride in what we do: We love our employees. We love our residents. We love our communities. For the sixth straight year, Camden has achieved the honor of being recognized as a great workplace by Fortune 100 Best Companies To Work For.   We believe that taking care of our employees insures that our customers will experience living excellence. Join with us as we celebrate this momentous occasion in Camden’s history and prepare for the next amazing twenty years! To watch Jeannine ring the bell, click here.  It was amazing. The fact that we had ACE, our mascot, on the trading floor was true Camden style!  We got lots of looks and smiles, even from those serious New Yorkers!
