Natural Pawz, founded by Nadine Joli-Coeur and Biff Picone, all began with the love and well-being of their dog Callie.

After Callie developed a skin licking and allergy issues, Nadine and Biff turned to all natural food. After seeing first-hand the changes in Callie’s demeanor and clearing of allergies, they started delivering natural food locally and felt as though this was their calling.

They research every item they carry, even going as far as to visit each plant that produces the food. They are checking for not only food safety, but also for the quality of the plant itself. They also ask questions like, “What if something goes wrong? What is the company’s plan to remedy any possible problems?”

There are 16 Natural Pawz store fronts in Houston and 3 in Austin, making them conveniently accessible to many Camden communities. The first Natural Pawz was opened in The Woodlands, TX in 2005; customers were driving from as far as Katy, TX just to get their four legged family members quality food. Natural Pawz wants to be known as a local shop, which is what prompted the 19 store fronts to pop up across the city and beyond. Some locations even have grooming salons with grooming experts winning Natural Pawz the Cardinal Crystal National Grooming Award.

They also reward customers with a Loyalty Program where you can buy your pets’ food 10 times and actually get one bag free. There is a new feature with the company where you can track your progress and even see your pet food buying history. They even help out community shelters with high quality food, ensuring as many cats and dogs left at shelters do not go hungry.

I used to think all dog food was the same and all you were paying extra for was the brand name. After both of my puppies, Denver and Aspen, developed skin problems and allergies to what seemed like everything in the book and endless Vet visits, I thought maybe there is something to higher quality food. After visiting the Natural Pawz in The Woodlands, it only took a week for my dog’s skin and allergies alike to clear up. I also do not think I have met a single unfriendly person at any location I have been to. Their Customer Service is impeccable.

I spoke with Nadine and asked what 3 products she would recommend to any new customers. She stated she would hit the three basics in the store, food, snacks and cleaners, both house and pet.

She would help direct them to a good food choice and give samples for the owner to try out to see if their pet will even like the product before sale. The top snack she would recommend would be Callie’s Treats… I can say these are my puppies’ favorites. And their cleaners are all-natural as they never recommend chemical cleansers harmful to pets, humans or their environments.
