I love to have the beautiful fall smells of cinnamon, apples, and nutmeg waft throughout my Camden apartment home this time of year. One easy way to create the ambiance of fall at a cheap cost it to make your own stovetop potpourri.

All you need it a few items that you probably already have in your kitchen pantry and your refrigerator.

Here is what you need:

  • 1 - Sliced Oranges

  • 1 - Sliced Apples

  • 2  - Cinnamon Sticks

  • 1 – Tablespoon of Whole Cloves

  • 2 – Cups of Water

What to do next?

Just add all the ingredients together in a small pot and let it simmer over low heat. In just a few minutes your whole apartment will smell like fall! Once your water gets a little low just add another cup or two to keep your potpourri scent lasting for hours or even days!

While it is simmering make sure to check out a few tips on how to create a cozy fall atmosphere in your apartment and how to decorate your front door with a beautiful DIY Fall Wreath. Once you are finished with your potpourri, just throw the contents away and clean your glass top stove and you are done.

With Christmas right around the corner there is so many other items such as cranberry and fresh pine leafs to create a wonderful winter scent. Be sure to come back and check out my next blog on how to create easy DIY stove top potpourri gifts to give to your family and friends this holiday season.

Happy Fall Y’all!
