Renters Insurance - An absolute necessity! Photo courtesy of Photo compliments of Freedigitalphotos.net It is becoming more common place for owners of rental homes and apartment communities to require residents to have renters insurance. At all Camden Communities across the nation, renters insurance is required. Not only does this cover your personal belongings in the event of a disaster, but it also may cover expenses you may be responsible for, God forbid, you cause the disaster (accidents happen!). You may not think you have enough worth insuring, but really think about EVERYTHING in your home: clothes, linens, furniture, electronics, medicine, over the counter medicine, make up, dishes, appliances....the list goes on! If you lost it all tomorrow could you easily replace it all in 24 hours without one bit of trouble? Renters insurance is relatively cheap (ranging from $8 to $25 per month). You can easily add a renter policy to your auto insurance, and possibly qualify for a multi-policy discount! There are also places you can get renters insurance, such as erenterplan.com. Renters insurance covers items in your home, often times it will cover items outside of your home (for instance, your golf clubs get stolen out of the back of your truck). Many renter policies will also cover damage caused by your pet (that pawed at carpet, or an over excited nip to a person). Be sure to speak to your insurance agent for the details about your policy and be certain your policy not only conforms with what is required by your landlord, but that it fits your needs as well!
