Blue Apron Meal Delivery: Here’s Why I Love It!
Zucchini & Cherry Tomato Quiches made by my husband by way of Blue Apron!
If you are not familiar with meal delivery services like Blue Apron then you are missing out! What Blue Apron does is send you a weekly delivery of ingredients to make meals. For $60/week you get the ingredients to make three dinners for two adults. When I say they send you the ingredients, I mean down to the seasoning and everything (besides salt/pepper and olive oil). If you need a splash of milk they provide the splash of mile, if it’s a tablespoon of mayo then they provide that exact amount of mayo, it’s awesome! Also, you are getting it delivered right to your front door! This means no more lugging groceries home, what a great idea for apartment living!
Here is why I say YES to Blue Apron:
Savings on cost and waste - While I feel I could probably make meals for less money, it’s the fact that I am not over-buying to meet the ingredient list. So though I could get more for my money in the grocery store, I don’t have to see the ‘more’ go to waste and rot in my fridge. Because of this it is actually saving me money and decreasing waste.
I am trying foods and produce I would never think to try – I am not a picky eater, but I will not go out of my way to try something new unless it’s placed in front of me. Blue Apron not only includes yummy and different but it shows you and teaches a way to prepare it easily.
Healthy(ish) – The ingredients are fresh and the calorie count is pretty reasonable. I worried about the servings being tiny and not filling….I like to eat a lot. Surprisingly the portions are generous and sometimes I even have left over for lunch the next day.
