A Coach's Advice

Amidst all of the news coverage surrounding Joe Paterno's life and legacy, I saw an interview with Urban Meyer on ESPN's SportsCenter that gave some great advice. Coach Meyer was asked what the most important piece of advice was that he received through his friendship with Joe. To paraphrase his response, Urban said that Joe preferred to use a rotary telephone when making a call because this forced him to think before he spoke. This is a positive way for anyone to react to a given situation (from the power going out in your apartment to that neighbor who slams the front door every time he leaves). Let's heed Joe's message and strive to have a calm 2012.
