Since day one I have been welcomed into Camden with open arms. My Camden journey began as an intern after my junior year of College at Baylor University. My slight interest in Real Estate led me to the Camden booth at the annual Baylor Career Fair. I immediately knew I had found something different, something better. I am not sure if it was the smiling faces or the genuine conversations, but both were a plus. I left that day wanting to learn more about this Company who has been on Fortune’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work for for 10 years in a row. I found myself not caring where I ended up geographically, as long as I had the opportunity to intern with Camden, I was happy.

That day was a pivotal point in my life. I truly believe it shaped my career, personal development, and marriage. My internship came with a free apartment and a fridge full of goodies! What more could a poor college kid ask for? Throughout the next 3 months my eyes were opened to at least 10 departments inside the company including Marketing, Construction, Real Estate, Accounting, and most of all, Operations. Camden's hands-on internship program is one of a kind, and I can assure you that all my friends were not having as good of a time as I was. After that summer, I was convinced I would be back.

Less than a year later, my dream became a reality. I was set up to start work at Camden Farmers Market the month after graduation. With marriage right around the corner, this could not have come at a better time. On June 3rd I picked up right where I left off, and thankfully the new team was just as great as my last! Shortly after I started working at Camden Farmers Market, I married the love of my life in early September.  We found the perfect apartment for us! Not only did we experience the exemplary levels us customers service included in our Brand Promise, even more so, our first apartment holds a special spot in our hearts.

It has been over a year now, and I have been blessed with opportunities to learn, serve, and grow like crazy. Working in a non-stop industry can be challenging, but with a company like Camden you really do learn to love it. The thing that brings me back to work every single day is the purpose behind what we do. After interning, working, and living at Camden, I think that anyone who experiences even one of those three things will be a better person by the end of it.
