Uber taking over big city streets

So who’s your typical call to at 2am in the morning? Your best friend, perhaps an ex? Nope! Surprisingly, Uber is most likely that last call of the night. Why? Simple; they are someone you can rely on at any time of the day or night. They are ready to scoop you and your friends up from anywhere and take you to your next destination. Uber is exploding worldwide with more than 8 million users in 67 countries, serving up to 300 cities. Houston is definitely taking advantage of this service with a growing number of the population using this app to get around. Let’s first break down how Uber works…

• First, you need to make an account. (Email, profile, credit card info)
• Second, that’s it! You’re done. You can call your Uber immediately.

Uber gives you the option to choose the type of vehicle you want, each having a different rate. Houston is a great example of a city attracting many people across the world, largely because of the numerous job opportunities created here. With that being said, having a car is a must! But for those who don’t, the issue has become much easier to solve when Uber is right around the corner waiting for you The benefits of using this service:

• It can all be done through your phone. No need to hail a taxi from the side of the street or call a 1-800 number.
• Enter your destination and your driver receives it immediately.
• Fair Splitting! Easily split the cost of your ride with friends.
• Their customer service is fantastic; you are given the ability to rate your driver on your trip experience.

(Now keep in mind the driver can rate you as well so being a good passenger is key or you won’t be picked up next time) And best of all… there’s option pricing just like Camden! You can either accept or decline a ride based on the rate. If there is a surcharge, you will always be notified. Our residents here at Camden Post Oak really get a delight out of using UberSUV or UberBlack. The cars wait for them outside the building, ready to take them to any destination like the airport or other nearby popular neighborhoods such as Midtown, The Heights or Downtown Houston. My experience with Uber has always been great. The drivers are either very talkative and want to know everything about you or they simply keep to themselves and let you enjoy the ride in peace. With Uber expanding, be sure to be on the look out for UberPool. The idea is simple, share your ride with a passenger whose destination is in the same direction yours is and split the cost. Also with UberEats, your driver will pick up an order of food you have placed at any restaurant and deliver it within 30 minutes. This service begins this March here in Houston!
