Orlando's Corporate 5K
This past April, Camden’s Orlando and Tampa properties participated in the IOA Corporate 5K (a 3.1 mile walk/run) around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. Camden had over 70 participants in a group made up of nearly 16, 400, which consisted of corporate and non-profit teams. The event benefits the Track Shack Foundation (http://www.trackshack.com) which is a non-profit organization that promotes and encourages health and fitness in our community with an emphasis on youth programs. The event started promptly at 7:15pm, with runners split up in designated spots for walkers, runners, and the really fast “3.1 miles in under 25 minutes” athletes! Our Camdenites wore orange shirts emblazoned with our Camden name and lick on hummingbird tattoos! The event occurred only a few days after the Boston Marathon tragedy, and there was a moment of silence in remembrance right before the race started when Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer took the microphone. The final results of the race for the real estate division found the Camden men in 2nd place, the women in 1st place and the mixed category in 1st place! It was a fabulous event and we were so happy to more than double our Camden participants from last year!
