I love that our culture is bringing back some traditional DIY decor. Decorative wreaths can be an easy and fun way to add something special to your space all year long. In this tutorial I will give you some simple instructions on how to make a decorative item this holiday season. This wreath can take as little as 2-3 hours, and was created for less than $15. You can create one wreath for every season to display in your home and bring them out each season. They are a simple chic, yet cost effective décor item that can be made while binge watching your favorite tv show. Let’s take a look at the supplies needed and get started!

Supplies needed:12 inch wire wreath frame - $2.99

2 yards of your favorite fabric2 Red berry stems Ashland® - $1.99Floral wire, 22 gauge - $2.49Sharp fabric shears – Priceless

Optional Supplies:Rotary cutter - $16.99Rotary mat - $14.57

**STEP 1: CUT YOUR FABRIC** Cut into 2 inch x 7 inch strips. Note: The measurements of the strips do not need to be exact. You can adjust the length of the strips depending on your taste. I had originally considered 1.5 x 9 inches.

**STEP 2: TIE YOUR KNOTS** Start at the center of the wreath, tie a knot with the fabric using wires 1 & 2.

Second, tie a knot with the fabric on wires 2 & 3.

Finish that row, by tying a knot with the fabric on wires 3 & 4. Slide the fabric down the wreath, and repeat.Photo courtesy of Note: The tighter you slide the fabric together the fuller the wreath will be.

As you start to add more fabric to the wire frame your holiday wreath will start to take shape!

If you tied the knots correctly, you will have a nice little pattern on the back of your wreath. This will lie flush nicely against any flat surface, i.e. interior wall, entry door, mantle, etc.**STEP 3: ADD EMBELLISHMENTS** – After you’ve tied all your knots you can secure any festive embellishments with floral wire or a hot glue gun. For this project, I love the tonal contrast of the red holiday berries against the crisp white fabric.

**STEP 4: HANG YOUR WREATH** – Now it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. You can keep this beautiful masterpiece or buy extra fabric and make a twin for a friend!
