I read an article in the Austin American-Statesman the other day titled "Apartment Occupancy, Rents Jump" that I thought I should share.  The article notes that apartment occupancy rates and average monthly rent amounts are both currently hitting record highs in Austin.  While new apartment communities are under construction, the job market continues to bring an influx of new Austinites into the renting scene (keeping rental rates and apartment occupancy high city-wide).  This article should shine some light on the current rental landscape and forecast what's to come in our fair city.
