5 ways to know when to Start Decorating
This blog comes from a personal dilemma I had between September 15th and October 1st. If you’re like me, fall means sweater weather has arrived and it’s time to DECORATE! But how early is too early to start dawning your Scarecrows and Spider webs. Here are 5 ways to tell if it’s ok to start decorating for the holidays.
Is the occasion your decorating for in the same month?
You might have your perfect decorations already purchased just waiting to be shown off. But if it’s September 1st and you already have your Halloween candy ready, things could get messy.
Is the weather right for your decorations?
Sometimes it does help to look at your local weather channel and see if the weather is right for your decorations. If it’s 95 degrees outside and your carved pumpkin is ready to go, another mess can be found at your doorstep.
Have you already picked out your theme?
It’s difficult to decorate when you don’t have your decorations picked out. It’s always a nice feeling when your decorating idea comes to life! But if you don’t have an overall theme, thing could get a bit confusing.
4. Have your taken down your previous holiday décor?
This might seem like common sense for some, but for those select few who like to put a Christmas hat on Jack Skeleton, that is not ok.
5. Do you like the holiday you’re decorating for?
If you are not particularly fond of decorating, you are in no way obligated to. A lot of times it may seem expected to put up those holiday lights in December. But if you are not really into that particular holiday, it’s not really necessary.
The holidays are a time to celebrate and enjoy each other. When accessorizing your front door or patio, it’s important to remember that you should be enjoying that experience as well. Be proud of your décor. Just not too soon.
