AREA GUIDE

Apartments in Plano

Everyone has a list of wants and needs when it comes to finding a home. That list usually turns into a one or the other situation, but Plano, Texas has flipped the script.

Topping the charts on safety and most desirable cities to live in, Plano really is the place where every person at every stage of life can be happy. You can imagine Camden’s list of wants and needs for a home is pretty long, and this is how Plano satisfies our top three:

1. We need good neighbors.

Plano is no stranger to the top spot on Texas’ safest cities list. With one of the lowest crime rates of any Texas city, its easy to fully enjoy finding new favorite places in your area. Not sure what neighborhood to start looking in? We found one so nice, we called it home twice! Visit Camden Legacy Park and Legacy Creek to discover the best fit for you. If you’re looking to relocate, there’s over 25 corporate headquarters that call Plano home which means plenty of jobs to choose from. Another feature much loved by locals is the excellent school systems Plano offers. Fun fact: Plano High School’s robotics team qualified and competed in a world championship competition in 2017. Here’s what else to expect in Plano via the Simply Camden blog.

2. We need a place with a personality.

Plano has created its own culture from 700+ restaurants with tastes from around the world, 3,800 acres of park land, and plenty of independently owned shops. Whether you need more date nights or TV screens to watch the game, be sure to visit Whiskey Cake for delicious American fare, The Biscuit Bar for southern cooking, Mexican Sugar for delicious Mexican food, and Gogiya for Korean-Japanese fusion dishes. The heart of the city lives in Downtown Plano – the Farmers Market happens every Sunday, there will never be an artisan coffee shop too far, local artists are proudly showcased in art galleries, the grass is always greener in Haggard Park, and more. You could also say that Plano is full of hot air (in the best way possible, of course!).

3. We need less traffic, more free time.

Plano was once a much sleepier place than the vibrant metro it is today, all because of one revolutionary transportation system: Downtown Plano DART Light Rail Station. This light rail station connects Downtown Dallas to Downtown Plano, which ignited a BOOM in industry and tourism while cutting down on commute times. Another reason for short commute times is the location of some of America’s most well-known companies within Plano. Those include Cinemark Holdings, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Frito-Lay, J.C. Penney Company, Inc, and Pizza Hut, U.S.; just to name a few. Don’t worry, locals report that this corporate center still has that small-town feel. With easier commute times into the city, those looking to live in the quieter areas, like our friends at Camden Buckingham, don’t need to spend a fortune on gas.

After you’ve put together the list of wants and needs for your new Plano home, visit Camden’s Plano apartments to see what you can check off your list.
