4 Easy Ways to Make Your Commute Stress Free
Atlanta living is awesome. There is always something to do, somewhere to go, or a new restaurant to try. With 100,000 of your closest friends on the same road. Atlanta traffic is real. I have been really lucky the last few years to live super close to the Camden community that I’ve worked at. Recently though, I had an opportunity take on a new opportunity at another beautiful Camden community. While I couldn’t be happier with my new community, the commute can be a little daunting. With an hour and a half to kill, I needed something to make my commute stress free.
1. Call up a bestie, or phone home
This is the perfect time to make a phone call (hands-free of course!). I usually chat with my dad on my morning commute in or call a close friend on the way home. Laughter is the best way to destress!
2. Set yourself up for success
Fuel, phone chargers, and hydration. Fuel up the night before or on your lunch break. Dedicate a phone charger just for your vehicle. And always have a bottle of water on hand. Stopping for these items on a busy evening can easily add 20 minutes to your commute. Be prepared and don’t stress yourself out with trying to find an easily accessible gas station in rush hour traffic. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t exist.
3. Audiobooks and playlists
I’m a Spotify junkie. With over 30 playlists created, I’ve got something for almost every mood and music genre. Recently, a friend was telling me about another friend, whose commute doubled. She was losing it with the road rage. She started listening to audiobooks to make her commute stress-free. I can tell you, that the Audible app is the most precious thing on my phone now.
4. Unplug and enjoy the silence
Sometimes in our hectic days, we just need some time to turn it all off. Turn off the phone, the emails, the texts, the radio, breathe and commute stress-free.
